Cowboy Guy!

Stetson hat and bolo tie.
Sunday best, 'cause he was a cowboy guy.

If grandpa wasn't home, nothing was wrong.
He had cabin fever all year long.

At the cabin the grandkids ran awry,
While he watched from the porch with a smile, 'cause he was a cowboy guy.

Fishing, hunting, going exploring.
He made sure life in Fruitland was never boring.

He would come over for dinner or just to say hi.
Then home to watch bull riding, 'cause he was a cowboy guy.

And bring on the food, 'cause grandpa could cook!
Though I don't think he ever referenced a book.

Who needs instructions to get a turkey to fry?
He didn't, 'cause he was a cowboy guy.

Grandpa taught me a lot, like how to care.
How to work hard and how to swear.

How to plow snow with a tractor, how to build a shed.
How to shoot without aiming and kill the "blankety-blank" rodent dead.

He taught me all politicians are liars and crooks.
And how sometimes you got what you wanted 'cause of your rugged good looks.

But most importantly he taught me to help others, rather then stand by.
And that's what he did, my grandpa, my cowboy guy.

I will miss you Grandpa. I love you!

In the eyes of a child!

So we have these Friends that we hang out with alot. Candy and T.j have 2 girls. Haylee is in kindergarten, and Kellee is 2. Haylee gets along with my kids so well, while Kellee is kind of shy. Haylee drew these pictures for my kids and I wanted to remember them forever, so I am posting them on the blog. The copies aren't great, but you get the point. Way to cute not to share. These are pictures of Meghan.
These are Bradlee's pictures that she drew.
Kaylee got one picture of her, and a letter.
Candy over heard her saying some of the letter, and it was something like this.
Dear Kaylee,
I love you and I miss you. I cant wait to see you again.
Love, Haylee.
Like I said, way to cute!!!

So a few weeks ago Jeff decided we needed to have a fire in the back yard. We bought smore stuff, and Jeff brought out one of the T.V's and we watched Princess Bride while making smores. It was so much fun. Jeff and the kids watching the movie.

Young Woman's

Meghan went to her first night of Young Womans last night. She was very excited to be going. Lucky for her, she didn't have to go alone. The activity was a Daddy Daughter date. How awesome is that? She goes to young womans for the very first time, and she gets to take her daddy with her. I don't think you can do any better than that. Jeff and Meghan had a good time on their date, and they even won a prize. I guess they built a boat and won something for it. I will post a picture of them with their boat as soon as I can.

Meghee Pies turns 12

For Meghan's birthday this year I took her and her Friend Breanna to the Clark Planetarium. She wanted to go there and see a show. Meghan and Breanna walking on the moon.
This is the girls giving the forecast for a perfect birthday.

As her gift this year she wanted her very own cell phone. after much deliberating, and her trying to convince us, we caved and got her one.

As you can tell by the pictures she was so excited. She told me I did a good job of making her believe she wouldn't be getting one this year, so she was more than surprised to unwrap the box. haha, I fooled her!

Happy birthday to my wonderful daughter, We are so glad you are in our lives.

Birthday Outfit

Here is Kaylee's birthday outfit. The funny thing is she wanted Dad to pick it out. I even took her to pick one out, but she wanted dad to pick it out for her because he is so good at it. Hello, he is colorblind...... Why is he better than me???? He is willing to spend more money, thats why!!!

Another year older- Kbear

Today is Kaylee's birthday, she is 9. We had a little birthday party for her last night. Of course like any kid (and some adults) she couldn't wait for her birthday, and she was so excited people were there for her. She got a Nintendo Ds case.
Jeff buys her a GI Joe every year for her birthday.

She loves Presents.
And she got a very cute Jonas Brothers outfit that I will take a picture of her in today and post later because it is super cute.
